I love Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo (read my review) so when the Metal ones came out, I was really excited to try the product!

Where to purchase: drugstores, mass merchandiser, and maybelline.com
Price: $6.99 for 0.14 oz/ 4 g

Made in USA

Description on the website:
Cream gel eyeshadow for long-lasting shimmery metallic shades
Smooth, Bold Metallic Shades
24HR wear cream gel formula for smooth application
Thoughts: From the metal collection, I was drawn to all the colors but only bought two. The silver, Silver Strike, and gold, Gold Rush, looks like they have a lot of glitters. I'm not too keen with glitters in cream shadows. Cream shadows with glitters are only good by itself. They don't make great base color in my opinion. It's hard to layer eyeshadow because the glitters peak through. The blue, Electric Blue, is gorgeous but that's the one color I cannot pull off on me. I've been told I look like a clown when I wear blue makeup. :/ For that reason, I only got pink and beige.
This is Inked in Pink. It doesn't look pink in the pot but it is.
This is Barely Branded. It's a gorgeous beige.
Here's a swatch of the cream shadows, Inked in Pink and Barely Branded.

Like the EyeStudio Color Tattoo, I love the packaging. It's always best to get cream products in a glass container. The glass makes the product creamier and last longer. At times, it will dry out. I highly recommend you store it upside down. The air coolness in the packaging, the bottom, with gravity will travel to the top part of the container if it's stored upside down. I hope that made sense. :/ Another thing I like is that you can see the color of the product on the bottom. Since I store my cream shadows upside down, it's easy to grab the one I'm looking for especially since they all have the same packaging.

Before I talk about the products in more detail, I heard Barely Branded is a dupe of Barely Beige and MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study.
Thankfully, I own all three. :X The one on the left is Maybelline in Barely Beige, middle is Maybelline in Barely Branded, and the right is MAC in Bare Study. It's kind of hard to tell from the picture. They look the same, but a little different. I have to say Barely Branded (metal one) is more on the beige compared to the rest. I think MAC in Bare Study has the most shimmer and is on the pink side.
Here's a swatch of the three different cream shadows. Again, the left is Barely Beige. The middle is Barely Branded (metal one) and the right is MAC in Bare Study. It's hard to tell but Barely Beige has the most pink when you swatch the color. Barely Branded (metal one) has the most silver/whitish. MAC in Bare Study has the most gold/yellowish. I would say Barely Branded is more similar to MAC in Bare Study than Barely Beige. Then again they're not that much different! I would say they're all close in color. If you're nit picky then you will be able to tell them apart.

Other than the colors of all three, they're all shimmery. I would say Barely Branded (metal one) and MAC in Bare Study has the same level of shine. Barely Beige is shimmery but not as much as the other two.

Now going back to the EyeStudio Color Tattoo Metal... Here's a look I did with Inked in Pink and Barely Branded.
I decided to use both colors. I used Barely Branded in my inner half and Inked in Pink on the outer half.
Here's another angle of the look. I used a transition color, MAC in Mulch, on my crease and outer "V". I thought the colors were pretty together.

My overall opinion... I'm a little disappointed with the Metal cream shadows. I was expecting a lot since I love their original EyeStudio Color Tattoo! If you use your fingers, you will have to build the pigmentation. The metal/shine look does not show up initially. It's just a color. That's where the issue comes. Since you have to build the pigmentation, I noticed a lot of blotchiness. The second time around I decided to use a brush. I highly recommend using a brush over fingers for this product. It works better and there's less blotchiness. It applies smoother.

Just like the original EyeStudio Color Tattoo once they're dried, they're set and will not budge. I don't see any creases especially with my oily lids. Great staying power!

Pros:
* Maybelline; a brand I trust.
* Simple packaging.
* Comes in a glass container.
* Can see the colors on the bottom.
* Versatile product; can be used as an eyeshadow, base, or eyeliner.
* Recommend to use a brush.
* No scent.
* Long lasting.

Cons:
* Only comes in 5 colors.
* Not the most sanitary safe if you use fingers.
* With fingers, there's separation and blotchiness.

Would repurchase: Yes.
Rating:  3.5/5 Tobey's Paws

If you're around LA (Los Angeles, California) this coming weekend, there's the annual The Makeup Show.
I highly recommend it if you're a professional makeup artist. They have education classes and exhibit. So many companies will be there from Inglot to Make Up For Ever.

Shimmery pink is gorgeousss.. : ) I'm normally not super adventurous when it comes to eye shadow color since I have monolids, but I want to try shimmer now.

Awww~ Sorry to hear Maybelline Color Tattoos aren't available where you live. I know that feeling of wanting something and it's not available *sigh*. I hope there's something similar over there. :)
