Not only did I get my nails done at A Valentine's Day Affair Event, I got to keep the polish. This is my first time trying wHet nail polish.

Product Review: wHet Nail Polish in Clandestine

Where to purchase: online at whetnails.com
Price: $15 for 15 mL/ 0.5 fl oz

Made in California

Description from the package: wHet your appetite with a bold departure from the ordinary. A mosaic of dynamic colors designed with the nail artist in mind. Enter the world of the avant-garde.
Thoughts: When I found out I got to keep the polish, I was stoke. I love learning about new products and trying them out. I feel that we're focused only on the well known brands and don't pay attention to others. There are a lot of brands that are not well known, and are extremely good or even better. This is a great example!
Here's a closer look at the packaging. If you're wondering how to pronounce wHet, it's [hwet, wet] which means "to stimulate curiosity, appetite and desire." That's taken from the box.
Here's a closer look at the color and it's very true! You pronounce it as [klan-DESD-tine]. It means "done in secret; needing to be concealed."
Here's a closer look at the brush. Compared to OPI, the brush is slight thinner. I wouldn't completely say it's thin, but more so on the middle of thin to medium.

Now for how it looks on my nails... There's going to be 2 version of the same polish.
Version #1:
I got this done by the celebrity manicurist at the A Valentine's Day Affair Event. If you look carefully, you will notice she painted it very lightly even though it's 2 coats. Even I could see my own nails through the polish. She also did not use a base coat. She just painted 2 coats and topped it off with a top coat. I cannot blame her knowing she's there all day painting nails. She has to paint and get a next ready for the next. Since it's painted lightly, it started chipping the second day. It was so bad that I had to remove it.

Version #2:
I did not want to base my review by the nails done by the manicurist. For that reason, I re-did the nails. I used Orly Calcium Shield Base Coat, 2 coats of nail polish, and topped it off with Butter London P.D. Quick Topcoat.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, I'm used to thicker brushes. They tend to be easier to paint around the cuticle or at least for me. Even though the brush is a little bit thinner, it's not bad. You definitely need to paint more than three times to paint one nail. Secondly, the consistency of the product is on the medium. It's not too thin that it drips on the nails and it's not too thick that it dries so quickly. I also think it's better to apply in thicker layers than thin. If you apply in thick layers, 2 coats is enough. It goes on easily, applies smoothly, and there's no streaking. Lastly and this is where I'm so impressed, the nail polish lasted 6 days before I saw any chipping! Most nail polishes last 5 days maximum on me even OPI.

Pros:
* Comes in a variety of colors.
* Medium consistency; not too thin and not too thick.
* Easy to apply.
* No streaking.
* Lasting power is amazing, 6 days!
* Three free.
* Not tested on animals.

Cons:
* Hard to find in stores.
* It can be costly for some people.
* Takes more than 3 swipes on each nail.

Would repurchase: Yes.
Rating:  4.5/5 Tobey's Paws

They're a brand new brand from what I have heard, but I'm pretty impressed with the lasting power. 6 days! Hrmmm~ You might like my collection too much... lol~ I have way too many nail polishes for one person. I think I get one usage for each nail polish *sigh*. That's not good. :X
