When I first saw the Physicians Formula Extreme Shimmer online, I've been on a hunt. It took me many stores and weeks, but I finally got a hold of both the nude shadow palette and cream shadows.

Here's a look at the display. I already reviewed the Physicians Formula Extreme Shimmer Shadow in Nude which I highly recommend if you like metallic looking eyeshadows. For this post, I will review the cream shadows.

Thoughts: I first tried the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Extreme Shimmer Shadow in Nude and fell in love. It's extremely shimmery but not in the way it's glittery. I'm not a big fan of glitters on the eye unless it's for the night out. It's more mellow, in the sense, you can wear it in daily basis. For that reason, I was extremely excited to try the gel cream.
It comes in three separate containers for each gel cream ranging from light to dark.
Here's a closer look at one of the gel creams.
Here's a swatch of the gel creams from lightest to dark on my hand.

Now for looks I did...
Look #1:
I first tried it as a base using the lightest colored gel cream and layering Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Extreme Shimmer Shadow in Nude. You can read more details on that post.
Here's an overall look.

Look #2:
I used the mid-colored gel cream on my lid, and MAC in Mulch as an outer v and crease.
Here's an overall look.

Look #3:
I used the darkest gel cream on the lid, and MAC in Mulch on the outer v and crease.
Here's an overall look. It's also the same look for ULTA Matte Lip Cream in Tender which I highly recommend.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, it honestly doesn't feel like a gel. It's more a stiff cream-like shadow or at least for me. With that said, it's not extremely opaque. When I first swatched the gel cream on the fingers, I was impressed. It looked opaque but when I apply it on the eyes, I need to layer a lot for it to show up and that's coming from someone who isn't dark. Secondly, I was shocked it had a lot of sparkles. I'm not the biggest fan of sparkles unless it's for the night out. Being an oldie, I hardly go out to clubs. Plus, I cannot see myself wearing this in daily basis. Third if you use this as a base, the eyeshadow will attach to the sticky texture and the eye look will be more brighter. This is a great base with the added sparkles. Lastly, it lasted all day on me without creasing.

Pros:
* Physicians Formula; a brand that I trust.
* Cute packaging.
* Comes in individual containers.
* Easy to use.
* Great for light skin if used as a shadow.
* Sticky texture; great for base.
* Doesn't crease.
* Long lasting; lasts all day long.

Cons:
* Need to layer; not opaque.
* Sparkles.

Would repurchase: No.

maybe use it on top of your regular eye look? Or just dab a bit on the inner eye? I love sparkles, but sometimes looking like a fairy isn't the best office look...so I just use them a bit for a highlight. Plus, when I feel like crud, sparkles do help make the day better. Or so goes my logic =P
