Thoughts: I remember several years ago flakes were so in. I'm not too sure if they're still in but I still love them. When I saw this polish on the website, I knew I had to get one.
Here's a closer look at the color or I should say the multi-colored flakes.
Here's a closer look at the brush. Compared to my favorite OPI brush, the width is wider and the length is slightly shorter. I would consider the width on the wide side.
I applied OPI Nail Envy in OriginalFormula X Prime Xcel Base Coat, one coat of Formula X in Dark Matter, one coat of Born Pretty Chameleon Nail Polish in Violet Galaxy, and then topped it off with Formula X Shine Xcel Top Coat.
Here's a closer look of the nail art with the flakes at a different angle.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, I actually like the brush. When I first saw it, I thought it was too wide and the length from the top (not the brush) was way too short. I didn't even notice the brush while painting. This has to be the quickest strokes ever. The width of my nail beds isn't big, but it isn't small either. It's a decent size. One stroke of the brush was good enough on top of my black nail polish. Secondly, the packaging is simple and cute. Since the flakes are on the dark side, it's hard to see the logo but I don't think it's a big deal. With that said, it's well-made and sturdy. It's made out of thick glass. The top is also sturdy. I can feel a tight seal while opening/closing the top. I cannot see it open or break unless you are rough with the packaging. For that reason, it's travel-friendly. Also, it comes in a small, round packaging. It's easy to hold onto, as well as, carry/throw in your purse or even your pocket. Third, the consistency is medium with different sizes and shapes of flakes. The direction is to apply it on top of any black nail polish. I've seen people also apply it on top of navy polish. I personally think it looks better on black than navy, but that's up to the individual. If you apply it on light colors, the flakes are noticeable but not as on top of dark colors like black. Also, it's not like glitters where it sticks out when you apply it on top of base color. It leaves a nice, smooth texture. When you apply top coat on top of the flakes, it smooths it out more and feels like a regular nail polish. It doesn't have any texture whatsoever. With that said, it goes on smoothly and there's no streaking and bubbles. Fourth, the flakes are gorgeous. It's multi-colored ranging from gold to green to orange and so on. It all depends on the angle that you're looking at. Since it's applied on top of black base, it's perfect for fall/winter season. Pigmentation-wise I'm impressed. I only applied one coat of flakes. They recommend two to three. For one coat, that was my result and it's extremely noticeable with the naked eyes. Lastly, there was slight shrinkage on the tips on the sixth day. It shrunk because of the polish not the flakes. The flakes are an added accent onto the polish. The flakes do not come off unless the polish does. Since I used a good black polish, there were no chipping whatsoever. When it came to removing the flakes, it was in-between normal polish and glitters. It didn't easily remove like a normal polish and it didn't remove like glitters. Since the flakes are thin and not thick like glitters, there were some pressure to remove but half the pressure compared to removing glitters. I just soak each nail a little longer than usual and it came off easily that way. With that said, I highly recommend this flake polish. It's fun, gorgeous, and you will get a lot of compliments like I did!
